National Service Animal Registration Center was founded by Paul Blair in 2008. It is dedicated to Paul’s late girlfriend Jessica “Jessie” Gregory, who died tragically in a snowboarding accident in 2006. Jessie was an artist, business woman, humanitarian, athlete and a great friend. She was a dedicated dog trainer and handler. She was a natural trainer, possessing the ideal traits for the job: patience, decisiveness, confidence, compassion and consistency. She was also formally trained at the SPCA’s dog trainer’s college in San francisco. She taught Paul a lot about dog training. Paul, who’s primary job is as a comedy-variety performer and circus artist had been a trainer of husky sled dogs before the two met, but grew to share her passion and some of her skill at it. On his own he became an expert at training dogs for athletes: runners, walkers, skaters and x-country skiers. It’s a lot of fun: Gee, haw, whoa! Now Paul is into training service dogs. He trained Nanook, a siberian husky inherited from Jessica. Early-on, Paul realized that no amount of training will last if the habits are not reinforced by the owner. He also realized virtually anyone can be a trainer, given the right guidance, dedication and patience. Paul recommends a few books and is a dedicated “Dog Whisperer” fan. For a list of reading, listening and viewing material see the “resources and links” page. At National Service Animal Registration Center, we advocate for your RIGHT to train and certify you own dog -if you desire- for you own particular -and totally private- disability needs. All you need to do is register your dog. It will make you life much easier! Certification and registration are required by federal law. A few states require “some kind of official documentation- which can be either registration or certification. So what’s the differerence? Cost. Certification can be THOUSANDS of $$$ while registration, especially with National Service Animal Registration Center, is quite inexpensive! WE BELEIVE IN THIS CAUSE , SO WE KEEP OUR COSTS DOWN.
